Making a YouTube Video
Okay here it is. The fastest and easiest way to make a video for YouTube. Lets start with a basic example such as a slide show of pictures you have and adding a favorite song to make a movie with end credits.
What you will need for this is as mentioned some pictures on your computer, an MP3 or .WAV music file and windows movie maker. The windows movie maker software is free and can be downloaded from the Microsoft web site if it is not already on your computer.
The slide show pictures can be downloaded from your digital camera or use office word clip art pictures you like. The music files can be obtained free with some web sites or pay .99 and buy a song.
Start Movie Maker and select import pictures from the capture video menu. Browse over to the directory where you copied your pictures and select what you want to use. As a rule of thumb 35 pictures will go with 3 minutes of music nicely however you can adjust duration of each slide.
Select import audio or music from the same capture video menu and browse to the directory where you have copied your MP3 or.WAV music file. You will now see all your pictures and that music file icon.
At this point you could select Auto Movie from the Edit Movie menu and the software will create a storyboard with the music file, set the duration and make the movie project. You can run the movie at this time on the bottom of the page and make editing changes such as change specific slide position and when the music starts.
In addition you can add video transition changes between slides. To do this, select the Edit Video menu and select video transition and drag/drop a transition type between slides. It is all drag and drop of icons including any new music files and slides. Simply delete the current music or picture and drop a new picture or music file you have imported.
When you have finished and are happy with the slide show, add some credits to your movie show. From the Edit Movie menu select making titles or credits, beginning title and end of movie credits.
The final thing to do is convert your video project into a movie. Select the File menu and save movie file . You will need to assign a name for your file and then select save to computer with default settings. Uploading to YouTube is easy. Signup for an account and select upload video. You will need to provide a description for the video and viewing settings.
